Water-Tested Before Delivery

Every installation, every time

Lowrance HDS units are some of the most capable fish finders and GPS chartplotters on the market, but their full potential only comes through with a proper installation. Transducer placement, power delivery, and Minn Kota network integration all have to be right for the system to perform the way it's designed to.

At CVMS, we install Lowrance electronics as part of a complete electrical build. Every unit is mounted, wired, networked, and tested on the water before your boat leaves our shop. Our team has 40+ years of marine wiring experience. We've seen what a bad installation looks like, and we don't do it that way.

We work on all boat types : bass boats, inshore boats, bay boats, center consoles, and pontoons across Salisbury, NC and the surrounding region.

HOW IT WORKS

OUR INSTALLATION PROCESS

01

Consultation

We assess your boat and current setup, recommend the right Lowrance configuration, and advise on transducer placement before any drilling or wiring begins.

02

Wiring & Mounting

Units are mounted at the correct viewing angle. Transducers are placed for best imaging performance based on your hull type and fishing style.

03

Minn Kota Integration

If you run a Minn Kota trolling motor, we configure i-Pilot Link so your Lowrance display controls spot-lock, route following, and heading hold.

04

Water Test

Every installation is tested on the water. We confirm sonar returns, GPS accuracy, and network connectivity before the boat goes back to you.

FAQ

COMMON QUESTIONS

  • What's the difference between Lowrance HDS Pro and HDS Live?

The HDS Pro is Lowrance's current flagship. It runs faster, has a brighter display, and supports Active Target 2 live sonar natively. The HDS Live is the previous generation and still capable at a lower price point.

  • Can you integrate my Lowrance unit with my Minn Kota trolling motor?

Yes and this is one of our most common Lowrance jobs. Minn Kota i-Pilot Link connects your trolling motor to your Lowrance display so you can control spot-lock, route following, and heading hold directly from the helm.

  • What is Active Target and do I need a professional to install it?

Active Target 2 is Lowrance's live forward-looking and down-looking sonar, similar to Garmin LiveScope. Transducer placement is critical to image quality. Professional installation is strongly recommended.

  • Do you install Lowrance on saltwater boats?

Yes. Saltwater installations require additional attention to corrosion protection on connectors and transducer hardware — our team accounts for this on every saltwater build.

  • How long does a Lowrance installation take?

A single HDS unit with transducer typically takes one day. A full build with multiple units, Active Target, and Minn Kota integration can take 2–3 days.
