📍 Salisbury, NC — 75-Mile Service Radius

High Rock Lake, Lake Tillery, Jordan Lake, and coastal

Simrad is built for serious boaters: offshore anglers, larger center consoles, coastal cruisers, and commercial operators who need reliable navigation and autopilot systems that perform in demanding conditions. The electronics are capable. The installation has to match.

At CVMS, we install Simrad systems on larger and more complex vessels where wiring quality and integration depth actually matter. Our team has 40+ years of combined marine electrical and wiring experience. We've built wiring harnesses for vessels where a loose connection or a miswired NMEA 2000 network isn't just inconvenient, it's a safety issue.

We serve Salisbury, NC and a 75-mile radius, including boaters running out of High Rock Lake, Lake Tillery, Jordan Lake, and the coastal region.

FAQ

COMMON QUESTIONS

  • Is Simrad better for larger boats than Garmin or Lowrance?

Simrad, Garmin, and Lowrance are all owned by the same parent company and share significant technology. Simrad historically skews toward larger vessels and offshore use. For a bass boat or smaller inshore vessel, Garmin or Lowrance is often the better fit.

  • How complex is Simrad autopilot installation?

More complex than most electronics installations. It requires selecting the correct drive unit for your steering type, wiring the control head and compass, integrating a GPS heading source, and performing a sea trial to calibrate the steering response.

  • Can you integrate Simrad with my existing chartplotter?

In most cases, yes. Simrad uses NMEA 2000 and Ethernet networking that is compatible with many other brands. Contact us with your current setup before committing to new hardware.

  • Do you install Simrad on commercial or working vessels?

Yes. We work with commercial operators and fleet buyers. Contact us directly for a fleet installation proposal.

  • What's included in a Simrad sea trial?

After installation, we take the vessel on the water to verify GPS accuracy, confirm autopilot heading hold, test radar returns, and confirm all networked units are communicating correctly.
